Our History

Sandhill Pipes and Drums has a long history of involvement in the community.

Raised in 1962 by Pipe Major James Nixon, it presented itself to support local community events including fall fairs, street parades and Legion functions.

Our current Pipe Major Ken Nixon, has been playing in the band since its inception. The band is also fortunate to have a second founding member, Bob Cook, playing in our drum corps.
